Billing & Payments
Every Detour organization is on a plan. The plan sets how many clicks a month you get, how many apps, short links and webhooks you can create, and which features are available. Payments, invoices and card details are handled by Paddle.
Available plans
Section titled “Available plans”Free needs no payment details. Starter and Scale are bought in the dashboard, with monthly or discounted annual billing. Enterprise limits, pricing and features are agreed individually. Write to contact@godetour.dev.

Free trial
Section titled “Free trial”Starter includes a 30-day free trial, once per organization. A trial cannot be reused after it ends or after the subscription is canceled. During the trial the subscription status is trialing and every Starter feature is available. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription continues on the paid plan and you are charged.
Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG)
Section titled “Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG)”Without PAYG, clicks past your monthly limit are blocked. With PAYG, they are processed and billed at the end of the billing period at your plan’s rate from the table above.
You set a spending limit in USD, which caps the PAYG charge per month. A limit of $0 turns PAYG off. You are asked for the limit when you first subscribe to Starter or Scale, and you can change it at any time on the PAYG card in the Billing section.
overage_clicks = total_clicks_used − base_plan_limitamount_due = (overage_clicks / 1,000) × rate_per_1kfinal_charge = min(amount_due, spending_limit)When you reach the click limit
Section titled “When you reach the click limit”- Without PAYG — Deep link matching, for Universal Links and deferred deep links, stops. Standard redirects keep working. You get an email at 80% and at 100% of the limit.
- With PAYG — Clicks are processed in full and charged. Once the spending limit is used up, matching stops and standard redirects keep working.
Click counters reset every month.
Plan changes
Section titled “Plan changes”| Change | Takes effect | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Free → paid | Immediately | A new Paddle checkout. The trial may apply if you are eligible and the selected price has one. |
| Trial → paid | Immediately, trial ends | The full monthly or annual price, with no proration |
| Upgrade | Immediately | The prorated difference for the rest of the billing period. A pending downgrade is canceled. |
| Downgrade | End of the billing period | The lower price from the next renewal. You keep the current features until then. |
| Monthly → annual | Immediately | The annual total, minus the unused part of the current month |
| Annual → monthly | Immediately | Nothing until the remaining annual credit is used up by monthly invoices |
| Resubscribe | Immediately | Regular pricing in a new Paddle checkout, because a trial cannot be reused |
You can cancel a scheduled downgrade at any time before the period ends.
What a downgrade or cancellation turns off
Section titled “What a downgrade or cancellation turns off”- Webhooks — The oldest active webhooks are deactivated until the new limit is met. Free allows none. See Webhooks.
- Smart banners — Below Starter, banners are no longer served and live banners are paused. Upgrading restores every saved banner, but you turn each one back on yourself.
- Custom HTML — Below Scale, saved HTML for the app preview page and smart banners is kept but no longer served, and the template version is shown. Upgrading serves the HTML again.
- Custom domain — When a paid plan is canceled, custom domains stop serving the organization’s links, and its apps move back to their
.godetour.linksubdomain.
Cancellation
Section titled “Cancellation”Click Cancel subscription at the bottom of the Billing section. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period, and you keep access until then. Any outstanding PAYG balance is charged first. The organization then moves to Free, and a new monthly click window begins. You can resubscribe at any time.
Payments
Section titled “Payments”Checkout, invoices and card details are handled by Paddle. Paddle accepts major cards, such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and local payment methods depending on your region. The billing currency follows the Paddle price you selected, and PAYG charges use the same currency.
-
Card — The Billing section shows the saved card.
Click Update card to replace it in a Paddle form. There is no separate option to remove a card. Canceling the subscription stops all future charges.
-
Invoices — Transaction History in the Billing section lists every charge.
Click Download invoice for the PDF. Paddle also emails a receipt after every successful charge.
Failed payments
Section titled “Failed payments”If a payment fails, for example because the card expired, Paddle retries it over the following days and emails you. The subscription status changes to past_due, and your features stay available. To recover, click Update card in the Billing section before the retries end. If every retry fails, the subscription is canceled and the organization moves to Free.
Refunds
Section titled “Refunds”Detour’s general policy is no refunds. Limited exceptions apply:
| Scenario | Eligibility |
|---|---|
| Accidental purchase by a friend or family member on your account | May be eligible |
| Unauthorized charge reported within 120 days | May be eligible |
| Cancellation during an active billing period | Not eligible, access continues until period end |
To request a refund, write to contact@godetour.dev with your account details and the reason. The team responds within 14 business days. Sending more requests for the same transaction does not speed this up. See the Refund Terms.
